JOB SUMMARY
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Collect water and food samples and deliver them to the environmental health officer or assistant environmental health officer.
ii. Identify and record sources of water.
iii. Prepare maps of areas with water pollution to take necessary actions.
iv. Collaborate with village and neighborhood water committees to ensure the safety of water sources.
v. Encourage the community to protect water sources.
vi. Promote the construction and use of proper toilets within the community.
vii. Assist in educating the community on good hygiene practices.
viii. Report outbreaks of diseases to the supervisor.
ix. Encourage the community to design, plan, implement, and manage community participatory environmental health plans.
x. Conduct house-to-house inspections.
xi. Inspect residential and business premises.
xii. Control hazardous waste, including waste from health services.
xiii. Enforce small-scale environmental health regulations.
xiv. Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor related to education, experience, and skills.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Candidates should be graduates of Form Four with a certificate in Health Assistant training or Environmental Health Technician from a government-recognized institution.
