DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Identifying the needs for medicines and equipment and preparing the budget for them.
ii. Ordering, purchasing, storing, and distributing medicines and medical equipment at the workplace.
iii. Keeping records of medicines.
iv. Preparing a hospital formulary for use at the workplace.
v. Dispensing medicines and medical equipment to patients.
vi. Supervising the proper use of medicines.
vii. Compounding medicines for use at the workplace.
viii. Inspecting private sector pharmacies.
ix. Reporting adverse drug reactions.
x. Serving as the secretary of the Hospital Therapeutic Committee at the workplace.
xi. Educating subordinates, other health sector workers, and the community on the proper use of medicines.
xii. Supervising the implementation of the National Drug Policy at the workplace.
xiii. Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor related to his/her education, experience, and skills.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Employed individuals with a Pharmacy degree from a government-recognized institution who have completed one year of practical training (Internship) and are registered with the Pharmacy Council.
