DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Performing all hospital medical tasks related to various diseases in the relevant field.
ii. Teaching students in health colleges within the work area.
iii. Investigating, monitoring, and preventing disease outbreaks.
iv. Preparing continuing education for health workers.
v. Teaching and directing the staff under them.
vi. Supervising the staff under them.
vii. Conducting and evaluating research and disseminating results.
viii. Designing and preparing strategies to improve the quality of services in their field.
ix. Providing outreach services in the region.
x. Providing medical legal services.
xi. Participating in the creation and management of Government Policies and Plans on health.
xii. Advising the ministry on the management of health activities in the country.
xiii. Participating in the medical board committee for retiring staff due to health issues.
xiv. Preparing curricula for the continuing education of health workers.
xv. Preparing plans and budget estimates for health services.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Employment requires a Master’s Degree in Specialist Medicine or a PhD in the field of Pediatrics from universities recognized by the Government. Must be registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council.
